Concrete Beam Deterioration and Replacement

A concrete beam supporting a 48,000 lb firing hood was severely damaged and needed repair. The interior rebar had deteriorated due to long term exposure to corrosive chemicals.

The existing beam was removed and a new beam was designed and installed. Steel shoring was designed to support the 48,000 lb firing hood during construction of the new concrete beam.
